Boone, NC is a small mountain town located in the beautiful Appalachian mountains. With a population of just over 20,000, Boone offers visitors and locals great outdoor activities and opportunities to experience the culture of Appalachia. Despite its size, Boone offers a variety of public transportation options for getting around the town. The local transit system consists of three transportation services: AppalCART, Watauga County Public Transportation and Blowing Rock Transit. AppalCART provides local bus service within Boone and the surrounding area as well as connections to nearby cities such as Asheville, Charlotte and Winston-Salem. Watauga County Public Transportation provides shared ride service for medical appointments, shopping trips or errands while Blowing Rock Transit offers free shuttle service from Boone to the neighboring towns of Banner Elk and Beech Mountain during peak season. All three services are available seven days a week throughout the year making it easy to get around town or explore beyond city limits.

Not sure where they got the rents from. Maybe not updated as there is nowhere to rent in Boone. Unless a student and they are paying $1000+ for 1 bedroom/bath shared  More

Boone and the High Country's climate is unique to North Carolina and the Southeast. It's cool summers and snowy winters are much more comparable to places much farther  More

The area is beautiful - living in the Blue Ridge Mountains is gorgeous. But .. the views don't pay the bills. Housing is overpriced. You are better off living  More
