It is a suburban residential community situated east of the city of Ramona and close to the Cleveland National Forest. The area has an active homeowner’s association which plays an important role in local government and everyday life in the area. The purpose of the homeowner's association is to improve the quality of life for residents by providing numerous services such as maintaining roads and common areas, organizing events, and providing other amenities.
The politics of San Diego Country Estates are governed by the homeowner's association board of directors who are elected by local voters every two years. Candidates for these positions must be residents who are eligible to vote in San Diego Country Estates. Members of the board then hold regular meetings that all community members can attend to discuss various issues that affect their neighborhood such as development projects, zoning regulations, street and infrastructure improvements, and more. This ensures that everyone has an equal chance to voice their opinion on matters that will shape the future of their community.

Here at BestPlaces, we were looking at the voting patterns since the 2000 election and realized that we could express the results of each election as one letter. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won. The six elections (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020) would be expressed as six-letter word (R R D R R).
