Review of Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky

Lexington Sucks!
Star Rating - 9/29/2013
My husband and I have been visiting Lexington, Kentucky for a couple of weeks now and we hate it here! Many people are rude, snobbish and terrible drivers. I hope we never come back here again!

Moving from Southern California I didn’t expect worse drivers in Lexington. Less than a week here, saw a car speeding try to pass a big rig on the right, rig didn’t see him and started pulling into right lane, car swerved a bit but rig corrected in time. The car, upset, proceeded to cut in front of rig, hard brake and deliberately drive slow. People are constantly speeding, running red lights, honking fo no reason, and not stopping for pedestrians. It’s a joke.

Most of the people ain't rude unless you are in cars and they use the 'safety' of their car to abuse you. Out of their car they're chicken and polite. Traffic is horrible but it is even in small town in the USA as people spend way to much time driving around doing things instead of learning hobbies to do at home. The drivers are horrible and were that way even way back in 1983 - 1984 when I was in high school and worked at a hotel there for a year. People blatantly will run a red light over a minute after the traffic signal has changed. It's the most idiotic and indicative of a boorish superior attitude the red light runners have with regards to others that are obeying the traffic laws. Yes, parts of the town that are old enough to have mature trees and lots of them are beautiful but most folk can't afford that and will spend their minimum wage lives living in cramped, over-expensive apartments placed in wall to wall parking lots with nary a tree in site. Let's not be harsh just to Lexington though. The entire nation is turning into a land where if you are rich or poor and on government dole you live a life of idle luxurious leisure in some of the most expensive locations to live in the world but if you work for a living you must deficit finance everything you do to become a productive member of society. From your college education, you vehicle, your home, and your health along with much more. You waste up to a 5th of your life commuting to work because you can't afford to actually live anywhere near where you work and furthermore your salary is most of the time tied to corporate welfare from the government or you're working directly for the government. Most middle class wages have become ineffective for supporting the earner because the government has deficit loaned money to financial market speculators leading to rampant inflation. Are you daring enough to take out an overpriced 30 year mortgage? Well, job security is gone too as soon as they can automate your job or ship it overseas so watch your step. Make America socialist? Ha, it went that way in the 60s and have been deficit financing its shell game of fake monetary success by inflating dollars in circulation to use in deficit financed private, business, and government budgets.
