No dog barking noise ordinance - 10/10/2018
I have lived in Norco, CA since 1964. If you want to live in a nice quiet little town, then DON’T move here. Norco has no noise ordinance about barking dogs! I have neighbors in at least three (3) homes around me with dogs that bark continuosly. The city hall and the animal control said it’s to bad but they can’t do anything about it. The neighbors obviously don’t care or are just plain disrespectful towards their neighbors. Other then that I guess it’s okay here. Except that the intense horsestyle life has pushed out the areas where children on bicycles once could ride safely. At one time all the dirt trails on the sides of the road were uncluttered. Now there are fences between the road and the dirt trails that prevent children from being able to swerve off of the road onto the dirt trail in order to avoid disoriented automobile Read More

Horse Trails Climate - 3/16/2015
I left Calif about 30 years ago for Texas. I will miss TX politics but not a lot else when I return to Ca (Norco). Left Ca. with 2 mares (1 prgnant). The mare that was 36 in Feb is still with me and am hoping to be able to bring her back with me when I move in Sept. That said, even tho I have started horses under saddle, raised foals and stood stallions I will be totally new to the Norco horse world. I have many questions (Can anyone recommend some horse vets and who to avoid)? Any thoughts on life in Norco would be appreciated. Read More

Life in Norco - 6/27/2009
I have lived in Norco for nearly seven years. Long enough to still have some equity. Norco is full of old timers who have lived here for the past forever. Fact is most of these folks grew up here. For example my all of my neighbors have been in town for at least 20 years some 40years or more. The real old timers are the ones who complain about the way Norco used to be. Yeah, that's right it used to be a real dump hole , but things are improving slowly, at least in the Old Town district. 6th street is much improved with new street lamps, a really nice country themed strip mall, plenty of tack and feed stores even a new vet hospital. It's like a little slice of the Midwest right here in So Cal. There are a lot of nice large lots. I have 1.4 acres. Love it. Lots of folks own animals and horses and such. Love it. Every street has a riding trail and folks still ride plenty. Norco is also close to jobs and shopping. No Norco is not a yuppie haven, but it should Read More

Nice town - 10/15/2008
I moved to Norco about six months ago and love it. The city has a small town feel, which is hard to find around here. It is quiet at night and most houses have nice sized yards. The only negative would be that it is hard to find houses for Read More

property investments - 4/30/2008
Moving here in my mid forties sixteen years ago I can honestly say it took me the greater part of a dozen years before I became one of those type of people out-siders often dislike. A man with a California lic. plate. Investing in Southern California real estate can be both, extreamly rewarding, or not, if you are not ready for the down turn markets. People here melt in from all walks of life and from every where on earth. Making it one of the most interesting places on the planet to live. Work, or play can be enjoyed with in a hours drive in any direction. Including the beach. Make it a point to always drive against the flow of traffic. Take vacations when others are working and work when others are out of town on vacation. Living here requires an open heart as well as an open mind. There are a lot of good folks around here if one will open their eyes to Read More

Bring your critters! - 12/1/2007
I've read the negative reviews about Norco and yes, the traffic is worse than it used to be but, where in CA isn't it worse? At least we have way over 80 miles of fenced horse trails on the streets and we still have Hidden Valley, or, you can trailer to MANY places to ride that are within an hour or two away. We still have large, animal keeping lots and we can have just about any critter that we want, with the exception of bears and lions and... well, you get the point. If you want to have llamas, goats, chickens, horses, cows, sheep, dogs (limit 4 adult dogs), pigs, etc . . . move to Norco! It's still got friendly people too! Check it Read More

Not Like It Used to Be....Horsetown, USA? - 4/11/2007
We moved here in 1999 because we had horses. Although there are tons of trails, there's too many people living here that don't give a crap about driving slowly. It's getting downright scary to ride down to the river. Although there have been sushi bars added to the mix of restaurants, there's really not a whole lot to do here. Thank God there's Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario Mills up the street. There's the Fender Museum in Corona next door but that's it for culture. If you want concerts, you have to go down to Pechanga in Temecula. Still if you want to keep horses, dogs, cats, goats, sheep, emus, or camels in your backyard, you've come to the right Read More

Lost its charm - 1/26/2007
Norco used to be a charming, quaint, little animal keeping community. Much of its appeal was being able to see horses in almost every backyard (and a lot of front yards too), its peace and quiet, its feed stores dotting 6th St., its antique (junk!!) stores, its western clothing and tack shops, its small cafes, grocery store and "saloon" with hitching posts or corrals in front of them, its friendly people who were truly concerned about their neighbors, and, the "old time feel" you got seeing the many horses and riders meandering up and down the miles and miles of dedicated horse trails on practically every street. There was a time when you could ride the split-rail fenced street trails, the hills and the river bottom in a safe, friendly, environment but, because of the over-building of houses in the hills and the VERY non-equine friendly people driving at speeds over double the posted 25 mph limit, it isn't safe to ride anywhere anymore. The charming "old Norco" lifestyle, in my Read More
