The same city? - 11/15/2011
I owned 2 homes in Lawrenceville and was a long time resident. Lawrenceville experienced great growth and was the commuters dream in the 1980's. It was one white county when I lived there. If I were a person of color and lived there then, I was the exception. There was quite a bit of blatant racism then. My brother still lives in Lawrenceville and has watched his property value plunge by 60% since the housing crash.  Read More

Spring time in Lawrenceille - 4/29/2010
Although Lawrenceville has changed a lot over the past 23 years that I have lived here, it is still a pleasure to live here and enjoy a relatively high quality of life. I travel a lot around the world for school and work and I enjoy experiencing different cultures. Lawrenceville by some estimates has the second largest Bosnian/former Yugoslavian community in the United States. We also have a burgeoning Hispanic community, whom are slowly becoming important business leaders and working professionals after immigrating here, usually in the last 10 years. There is also a large African community with folks community coming from Nigeria, Mali, Liberia, just to name a few. The Korean community is a very major important component in the future growth and development of Greater Gwinnett county.

Transportation wise, the bus system is not the best, but if you don't mind walking a mile or two you'll be fine. Our bus system connect all the way down to Hartsfield International airport, Read More

Education in this town is excellent if you are fortunate to have money and can afford to live in the right school cluster. It seems that the students are only taught enough to pass the standarized tests and not much else. we moved to Gwinnett County beacuse they have good schools, they are good, not great or excellent. We are very disappointed and are trying our best to Read More

Only 30 miles from Atlanta, it has a wonderful country feel to it. You feel like you are not living close to one of the most vibrant cities in the country. Mild winters, warm summers, and a cost of living very moderate considering the Read More

Lawrenceville, GA - 9/3/2007
We moved to the Atlanta area 15 years ago from Indianapolis. We have a mild climate down here year-round and haven't seen any snow for at least 3 years. We're moving back to Indy in a few months because we think it's a smaller town atmosphere and we miss the 4 seasons.

You have got to love Lawrenceville & Gwinnett Coun - 8/7/2007
The house prices vary from 140's up to several million. Land seems to be plentiful. Homes construction is moving at a good pace. It is a multi-nationalty community. Schools are excellent. Law enforcement is tops. Crime doesn't seem to be very high. I have lived here for 11 years and the only reason I may consider moving is for retirement purposes. Grocery prices are very reasonable, and there are many grocery facilities to choose from: Sam's, Costco, Kroger, Wal-Mart, Publix, etc.,etc.

The City of Atlanta is only a 25 mile drive. The Arts are an important part of the community.

It is a great place to live - no doubt. The jobs are plentiful and the people are Read More

So much growth... - 7/5/2006
Lawrenceville used to be a very small town 30 mins from Atlanta, but now it has become a large town of bedroom communities and continues to grow at a very fast rate. Gwinnett county, of which Lawrenceville is the county seat, works very hard to keep up with the growth rate and very progressive in it's thinking regarding, recreation, libraries and parks. Gwinnet has some of the best parks and Libraries in the state. Perhaps the greatest problem living in Lawrenceville is the commute. With so many people the roads stay very busy and commute times are not great. The DOT is working to correct this problem but it is difficult to keep pace with Read More
