Living with wildfires - 8/29/2006
In parts of town where there are signs posted promoting www.livingwithfire.org one might think twice. Since moving here from the east coast 2 years ago we have experienced one fire (8,000 sq feet - largest in history) burning our entire view to the left. And this year a fire burning our view behind us. It's a very scary thing being evacuated for fire and watching it burn. Unlike anything we were used to. The govt does a great job trying to replant, but it will take years to regrow that beautiful view and by then i expect there will be another fire. Reno has many fires as well. Dozens each year.
