Euclid Ohio - 4/25/2015
I have lived in Euclid Ohio for almost 15 years. I have seen the changes Euclid has gone through. I'm not moving because things aren't the way I would like them to be. If you look at the police blotter for other City's,you will see that crime is everywhere. The problem Euclid has are the people living here that need to tell the world our business. As a result Euclid starts to look like the worst city and It's not. People think we are the only ones with problems. Other City's keep their mouth shut and therefor appear to be better. Just my opinion.  Read More

Turning it around - 6/13/2009
I've had my daughter in the Euclid system now for 2 years plus pre-school. In that time I have been extremely involved in working with the board, PTA and teachers. I can say with some authority that the people doing this work are killing themselves to make things better. They are realistic about where things were and have already made so much progress that so few people know about. The biggest problem will continue to be parental lack of involvement in their child's education. If parents work with the administration and actually talk to the teachers, they will see that their own teachings are helping to undermine the work the teacher is doing. Maybe their little angel didn't do the right thing and should be called out on it. Stop assuming everyone is out to get you/your child and that the schools will do all of the educating with no work on your part. If you want to child who does well in school, then you need to get out and get involved with your child. You don't have to Read More

Anywhere but Here - 5/4/2009
Euclid, Ohio is close to the Cleveland-metro city limits, and strives to be better than other suburbs as it is situated on the shores of Lake Erie. I have lived in a "luxury" highrise a stones throw from the lake in the nicest part of town for 7 years now. For many years I have been ok with the northeast ohio winters, and climate that can change at the drop of a hat from 70 to 30 degrees in one afternoon. Cleveland enjoys one of the best healthcare systems in the nation with the world renowned Cleveland Clinic, among others. The cost of living is relatively low within the city and it's suburbs. But in the past several years the economy here has declined so rapidly and all inclusively that much looks like a wasteland! The State of Ohio and many of its North East cities have no money for even the basics to maintain and support the community. My lakefront community home has literally become unbearable with the flight of many good quality neighbors and businesses. In seven short Read More

Quality of Education - 3/7/2008
I live and work in Euclid and send my kids to private schools. I would not consider sending my kids to Euclid H.S. for the following reasons. First, The Administration (Board of Education, Superintendent, and Principals)do not hold the students accountable for their actions. Second, The teachers are overwhelmed with the lack of respect the students have for anyone in authority. Third, anyone visiting Euclid H.S. would be appalled at the number of students walking the halls after the bell to be in class has rung. Even 5, 10, and 15 minutes after the student was required to be in class, several walk the halls going unchallenged by the hall monitors. These students are occasionlly stopped, written up and sent to the principals office. The principals are inundated with numerous delinquent students requiring the principal to spent an enormous amount of time counselling these youths. The parents are called and the first thing out of the parents mouth is "my child wouldn't do that".  Read More
