Love Tulsa - 6/3/2009
I recently moved to Tulsa looking for work. Things were pretty bad back home. Within 2 wks my husband and I both found awesome/stable jobs, our new apartment... Best decision we ever made. The only reason you wouldnt have a job in Tulsa is if you dont "want" one. Work is

Tulsa...a big disappointment. - 5/9/2009
I moved to Tulsa about a year and half ago and I am very unhappy with what I have found in this city.
The public transportation sucks, routes are ordered in a very strange way, the waits are ridiculous, routes end early evening leaving you stuck if you miss...
The people are very unfriendly and uncaring. In all of this time I have not met one person I could truly call my friend. I usually make friends easily...this is one place where that will not happen. The folks here are out for only one thing...'THEMSELVES'.
Although for a city the landscape is nice for it is not flat...there is no beauty in this place and the only thing I have found here is unhappiness. There must be a better place to live. Do not choose this

I hate living in Tulsa and wish you leave ASAP - 3/27/2009
BACKGROUND
I am a woman of French and Spanish ancestry. I enjoyed a middle clas life in Mexico where I was born, raised and educated. I am SO very sorry that I accepted my then-husband proposal to move to Tulsa. Had I known better!!! I have American friends living in Mexico who warned me there was nothing here for me. They should have provided further details. Where do I start?
WEATHER
Make sure to have a bikini under your mink coat. Weather is unpredictable and anything can happen, anytime.
BIBLE BELT
My first surprise I guess was finding a church in every corner, literally. I thought Mexico was a religious country... no comparison! I was raised a Catholic but I don't practice. People here are very much into what denomination they are and fiercely criticize other churches. They also think they are much better than others who are not reliigious zealots. I do not know what they learn in church but definitely not tolerance.

Wow, I was looking at the stats on Tulsa and it looks really bad. In truth, it's a great place to live. People are very nice, the city is beautiful, lots of underground art and culture with a great music scene. There are tons of festivals all of the time and so on. People of many races live together and get a long great here. People are very polite and willing to help each other in times of need.

There is no there there. - 7/31/2008
Not a great place to raise a family, though it may have been at one time. The education system is middle of the road to bad (with a few exceptions). Teachers are poorly paid and anyone with a BA can teach which explains some of the problem. The crime rate is everything that you hear it is, BAD. The Tulsa police are understaffed and understandably indifferent. In the 2.5 years that I lived in Tulsa I had my window shot out while driving down the street, my car broken into, and I got solicitied by a prostitute while working in my yard! None of these things happened in a 'bad' part of Tulsa. Entertainment is thin. I highly recommend the Drillers and even the State Fair, but both are seasonal and limited in appeal. The best you can do on an average night is a movie and a bite out at a chain you could find anywhere in the US. Everyone goes to church yet divorce rate in Oklahoma is always 1 or 2 in the nation and teen pregenancy is in the top 10! You can do well anywhere, but if

OK in OK - 3/1/2008
I live in Tulsa for 6 years. The advatanges are the extremely cheap cost of living. If you have a good job you live pretty good. The other advantage, and those that live can tell you is that it is one of the easiest places to get around since the streets are in numerical & alphabetical order. There is no place you can't get to. It is a city that has 1/2 of the inhabitants trying to grow but that is hindered by the other 1/2 trying to keep it small. Disadvantages are the ignorant people trying to keep it small, and the extreme lack of things to do on the weekend if you don't want to bar-hop. This place sucks if you are like me, a retired barfly, that once to do something fun at nights. There is nothing to do but go out to eat, catch a movie, or blow money at the casinos. I will say that you have to go look for crime it rarely finds you. The only crime that has happened to me was someone stoled cinder blocks out of the back of my truck.... big deal. I grew up in downtonw Dallas, this

STAY AWAY FROM TULSA!!!!!!!! - 1/31/2008
tulsa is a lost cause. it has nothing any sensible person wants except for shopping(wal-mart) and some really crappy resturants. entertainment in tulsa does not exist, everything from amusement parks to arcade go-cart places are history. the city is losing population daily from this city just sucking, the crime here is terrible, the weather is hot and humid and sticky because of the mosquito infested arkansas river. oral roberts university keeps control of the media, radio, and the small minds of peoples pocket books. tulsa is very bland, boring, and seperated from the real world. if you come to tulsa get yourself a gun, crackpipe, and bible and you'll fit in just
