Nicest suburb in the Portland Metro Area! - 12/30/2021
Beaverton is a great place to live and raise a family. It's gotten much more expensive and much more congested, but so has the rest of the country. Overall, it's still far better than most places, and its location between Portland and the Oregon Coast could not be better. It rains a lot, but that's why it's so green. The naysayers here just need to get a grip and travel around a bit, to appreciate what Beaverton still has to Read More

no longer a wonderful place to live - 10/4/2021
used to be fantastic! moved here 25 years ago. at that time beaverton schools were 2nd in the nation. cost of living was low, great paying jobs, and low traffic. Liberal politics was manageable. Now here we are 25 years later and thousands of californians flooding in here. Not just Beaverton but the entire valley. changing all of this and making Oregon another crap hole Califoni !! so very sad. the home I raised my kids in is no longer enjoyable. its not worth living here anymore and we must search to move. So,,,, if are a left extremes, and love socialism and having all your rights taken from you, and have the state control your every move, and tax you to the hilt, then by all means this is your place! but do your homework and really research oregon politics Read More

Just moved here to Beaverton, Oregon - 10/14/2014
Looks like we will be making Oregon our home. Where are some places that are up and coming with cute downtown, or possibly could be? Lower housing prices, but you can see in like 10 years it's going to be a great suburb or investment and/maybe good place to buy a home, however I would like at least 1/2 an acre or more to split up and sell later. Or to
Build a little ohana for my elderly parents and just have a place where family always had a place to stay.
I like the Sherwood area and Beaverton as well as Wilsonville. However I'm open to anywhere . Would love a piece of land kinda high above with trees and green and something I could turn into my own English garden. Just build small and add on, finances permitting. Also what is the best way to build or buy prefab (saw really really nice ones but I've built in california with a construction co that in the end was very nice but expeeensive Read More

Nice place, but... - 7/10/2014
Housing here is very expensive compared to most of the rest of the Portland area. Often housing prices climb just on speculation more than any real Read More

Wonderful Place to Live - 7/1/2014
I moved to Beaverton about three years ago. It's a wonderful place to live. It's a very peaceful, quiet location that has all the benefits of Portland without the hipsters or weirdness. The schools are top notch, there is a good selection of restaurants, lots of shopping with Washington Square Mall, Murray Hill, Progress Ridge and Cedar Hills, good access to the outdoors with biking and walking paths, and a nice variety of neighborhoods. There are some less than desirable areas in Beaverton, but mostly it's along Allen Street and parts of Walker Street. The rest is nice and lovely. Corporate HQ for Nike, Columbia Sportswear, Textronix, TransCore, Reser Foods and others. Downtown Portland is 15-20 minutes away for culture and nightlife and less than 2 hours to mountains, beaches, wineries and the Gorge for endless outdoor adventure. The weather is pretty wet, but temperatures remain mild year round, with snow and severe thunderstorms very rare. The scenery is gorgeous and trees are Read More

not what it used to be: - 2/13/2013
I've lived her now for over 16 yrs. We moved here because the schools were 2nd best in the nation. The cost of living was low, and it was a good place to raise a family. That has changed. Schools are now among the worst. Crime has risen. Jobs are sparse. Cost of living is much higher. Due mainly because of all the screwy laws and bonds that have been passed by the liberals. if you want to start a small bus., keep in mind we have the second highest minimum wage, at $8.95/hr
ON a positive note: it has fresh air all the time, and fresh water. Plenty of outdoor things to do if you don't mind getting wet. It rains here about 8 months out of the year, and gray much of that. Summers are great. Now that our kids are out of the house, we are planning on moving to some place nice and dry and lower cost of living! Read More

hypocracy - 6/28/2009
We've lived in Beaverton for 3 years. It is a beautiful area. There are some sad problems though. Even though Portland metro boasts its tolerance it is loaded with hypocracy. The tolerance is only for a handful politically correct topics. A lot of people are downright rude if you are outside of their expectations. The attitude is a bit cold and Read More

Mt Olivet Baptist Church - 9/8/2008
If you want the word straight from the Bible and a no-nonsense approach to the Bible with a Pastor who is very comical, this is the church for you! They have many different classes as well as ministries. Really a good church. There are 2 different locations one in Portland off of Chatauqua and one at Southridge High school in Beaverton. I have learned sooooo much there in my time here. Unfortunately I have to give up my church because I am moving to Read More
