Colorado is a state known for its beautiful landscapes, outdoor activities, and vibrant cities. With a diverse population and thriving economy, it is a popular place to live. However, like any state, it also has its drawbacks. Some users on BestPlaces.net have shared their experiences living in Colorado, providing valuable insights for those considering a move to the state. Let's take a look at what users have to say about living in Colorado.

1. "I have lived in Colorado for over 10 years and I absolutely love it here. The natural beauty is unparalleled and there's always something new to explore. The people are friendly and there's a strong sense of community. However, housing prices have skyrocketed in recent years and traffic can be a nightmare in some areas." - Sarah M.

2. "Colorado is a wonderful place to raise a family. The schools are great and there's plenty of outdoor activities for kids to enjoy. The downside is that it's becoming too crowded, especially in cities like Denver and Boulder. The cost of living is also high, making it difficult for some families to make ends meet." - John P.

3. "I moved to Colorado for the skiing and never looked back. The winters are amazing and there's always something to do in the mountains. But the summers can be brutally hot and there's not much shade. Also, the job market can be tough, especially in smaller towns." - Michelle T.

4. "I've lived in Colorado my whole life and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The people are down-to-earth and the sense of community is strong. The only downside is that there's not a lot of diversity in some areas and the cost of living continues to rise. But overall, it's a great place to call home." - Mark L.

From these reviews, it is clear that Colorado offers a lot of positives, such as natural beauty, outdoor activities, and a strong sense of community. However, the high cost of living, traffic, and lack of diversity are some common concerns among users. It's important to weigh both the pros and cons before making a decision to move to Colorado.

No mosquitos! - 4/7/2008
If you like snow and low humidity, Colorado is the spot for you. Summers can be hot but with it feels cooler because of the lower humidity. Conversely, the winters are milder because of the higher altitude. The sun feels warmer in the winter so if you're outdoors in December, you might have to remove your jacket. We don't have that many mosquitos here, especially up in the foothills. We live in Coal Creek Canyon and we saw perhaps 2 mosquitos all summer last year.

It's very common to have snow one day and 60-degree weather the next. This truly is a great place to Read More

Best Decision I Ever Made - 1/1/2008
As a software consultant, I have traveled to many states/countries over the years, and often take vacation in the southwest U.S., mostly in Colorado. I have moved from a small rural community in Ohio to northcentral Colorado a little over a year now.

It took me nearly twenty years to move my family to this beautiful state. My only regret is that I wished I had done this sooner. The quality of life is second to none here in the picturesque state. Abundant wildlife can be seen just about anywhere you venture to. With over 300 days of sunshine a year, combined with breathtaking views in the mountain, canyon and valleys, it's a clear reminder of why I moved my family here in the first place.

Another thing about northcentral Colorado is that it is conveniently located geographically from many national parks and monuments in the neighboring states like Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and South Dakota. All are easily within 6-8 hours drive, and ideal for long Read More

Searching for a great family friendly and diverse - 12/2/2007
I live in colorado springs. I am married with an autistic child. I am a black female disabled veteran ( I was in the Air Force) my husband is in the Army. We have lived here for 3 years And I love the scenery but it is hard to find jobs and the rental and housing is sky high. I am an army bratt! I started school in Germany and graduated high school in Hawaii I know expensive and this is it. When our son was in kindergarten I picked him up from school instead of my husband and the next day the kids Jumped him.they said he was not yellow white he is yellow black and used the N-word. I was shocked my husband looks mixed or latino and my son looks just like him. I sometimes get those attitudes when my husband and me go out to eat at some places such as Briargate area, Woodland Park, Littleton, etc. I am surprised I only lived here previously when my dad was stationed here when I was 9 I am now in my early 30's. I like to find a place that is cultural, family friendly, We like to eat out Read More

Great place to raise a family - 10/25/2007
I just love Colorado. If you love the outdoors Colorado is hard to beat. Great place to raise a family. Lots of fit and attractive people who are not scared to carry on a halfway intelligent conversation. Lots to see and do. Altitude and dryness make the cold not feel all that cold. A beautiful state with breathtaking views. Lots of public land set aside for all Americans to enjoy. People seem to not be all that materialistic. Native Coloradons don't brag about their state. It pretty much speaks for itself. Colorado is not perfect but it comes damm close to it. This is a state you can feel proud to live Read More
