This post actually, as mean as it sounds, does hit many of the micro social groups right on the head. While there is a great deal of diversity in the city, there is a common denominator: snobbishness. Not just a little...either, at some point, I wondered if people thought they were in NYC, or maybe Tokyo, whatever their case was, I surely did not understand. It was not until my second year of graduate school I realized that there was no easy answer as to why everyone seemed so superior to everyone else. It is unfortunate, there is a lot to do, great restaurants, and fun night life, however I don't believe I could stomach the attitude for more than I did.
