Review of Austin, Texas

Housing in Austin
Star Rating - 6/22/2006
I have been doing a lot of research in regard to California residents relocating to the Austin area. It was during this research I came across this sight. I was doing this research because I had the same question.

I would say 70% of my buyers have relocated here from either California or Florida. The demographics of the buyers seem to very different as well. Many are moving her because of work transfers. We have a lot of high-tech jobs similar to areas of California. Many are young couple, starting families that have come to the conclusion that they are not willing to sacrifice starting a family to afford a house. Here they can do both. They would need two incomes in California to pay a mortgage. Some are empty-nesters that realize they can sell there and buy here for cash and either help fund college eductions for their children OR have the retirement they have always dreamed of (travel, golf, etc.) I have also noticed that as more and more individuals are able to work from home via the Internet or have to travel often for their job Austin makes sense because of the cost of living and easy airport access. From an investment standpoint Austin is very appealing. The success of UT (Longhorns)has really caused a lot of people to take a little closer look at our ecomony down here which is very strong when other larger cities are in a decline.

I would be happy to answer any other questions you might have. I am glad I came across your post:) If you do end up heading this way and need help finding your next home I would be glad to help. I do so much business with clients coming from the Bay area that if you need the name of a good agent on that end to help sell your property I can help you there as well.

Have a great day.
