Austin is absolutely the worst city I have lived in. It used to be a clean, safe city 20 years ago. NOT anymore. Austinites are the rudest people on earth, especially the young drug addicts who now dominate Downtown. Amazon and Google are the only two real employers, so most Austinites are unemployed or very underemployed. High violent crime rate and homeless rate. I moved away in early April and I am very happy I did. Don't move here, don't listen to people who like it. It is horrible.

The reason that California is so heavily democratic is that all the republicans moved to Texas; half of them to Austin. Free thinkers beware; she is no longer what she once was. Only the memories remain. I’m leaving Austin just like I left every woman who ever disappointed me.

This is such a bizarre comment to me. Austin is one of the friendliest places I’ve ever lived. And it regularly tops lists for “friendliest” cities. Another commenter pointed to NYC and Seattle as being far ruder and I concur!

You must not have lived in very many places if you consider Austinites the rudest people on earth. Try Seattle or NYC and then you will consider them the nicest people!
