Review of Austin, Texas

Too hot, dry and liberal
Star Rating - 9/12/2006
I have lived here for nearly 50 years, and will leave as soon as retirement allows. Each year it get's hotter and drier. The summers are brutal, we hit 100 deg. in APRIL! What good is summer if it's too hot to be outside? Everything dries up and dies. Sure it's a matter of opinion...but I prefer 4 seasons instead of a wimpy winter, short spring and imperceptable fall followed by 5 months of oven like weather. Add to that the liberal hippie attitude that has prevented roads from being built causing some of the worst traffic in the state coupled with constantly rising property taxes and a police department that is rather trigger happy makes me anxious to head north.
