Austin is a mecca....for traffic!

Austin is the most overrated city in the United States. There is nothing this city has to offer that any other mid or large sized city in the US doesnt also have. The "culture" here is just a bunch of wired up yuppies riding around in there SUV's pretending to be laid back hipsters.
Unless you are in the "High Tech Field" which I guess a lot of people here are, judging from all the California license plates, good luck getting a good paying job. Sure compared to good ol' Cali Austin might seem like cheap livin', but when jobs only pay $10 an hour that 200 thousand dollar house downtown is a little out of your reach. Oh and if you don't live downtown, get ready to have an hour and a half of your day devoted to your daily commute. No one here can drive and inevitably you will be stuck on the highway, behind Miss Break Slammer, while you have Mr. Tailgater so far up your ass it almost hurts! It makes me nervous to take my 4 month old daughter out in this traffic. It is not a child friendly city.
But if you are bound and determined to move here, reading this is probably not going to change your mind. Austinites do have a good way of getting everyone to want to move to their city. I have no idea why- it's already overcrowded enough here.
Austin sucks and if anyone tells you its a great place to live they also have some oceanfront property in Arizona that they would like to sell you!
