Life in Austin

I moved to Austin in 1970, when I was 18, and moved to San Francisco in 1989. I still have many friends in Austin, and recently went back to visit. From what I have seen, Austin has a better quality of life than SF or any city in CA. It is cleaner, friendlier, and generally more attractive. The culture may not be as sophisticated as in SF, but its charm lies in its refusal to knuckle under to what other people may consider sophisticated. Austin is a town with its own honest character.
