Review of Austin, Texas

hi
Star Rating - 10/18/2012
I want to move to Austin from NJ. Not sure if it is the right move. I don't mind the weather.I am in the medical field ( receptionist, etc) Is it easy to get a job there? Also, what about transportation? I am planning on taking the bus until I get the car. How are the buses? I would appreciate any help. :) Thx.

I spent this past summer in Austin looking for work and tried to use the bus system to save some cash-- it was a disaster. It took forever to get anywhere--I was in the UT area close to a lot of buses and it still took me 30-60 minutes and a lot of walking on their dangerous sidewalks to get anywhere I could have gotten to within a 10 minute car drive. You would be better off getting a car or renting one for a while until you can buy one--this city is NOT public transit or pedestrian friendly.
