Austin is a great place to live

I have lived here for the last 4 years. Austin is a great place to live and to raise your kids. I have 2 kids, 11,12 yrs old. We live in Northwest of Austin, out in the suburbs. Recently moved from Atlanta. The RoundRock school district is one of the best. That is why we chose this area.
Yes, you can get cheap housing here. And yes, you can get expensive housing here. We chose the house because it is in the best school district.
Austin has quite a few high tech jobs and since it is a college town, it is much more liberal than the rest of Texas.
People are very friendly and much more tolerant than majority of TX.
Yes, it is hot BUT it is not as humid as Houston or Atlanta for that matter. So it is very tolerable. But that's just hot one or two months in the summer, the rest is just beautiful weather year round.
As someone here used to say "we have 11 months of liveable weather.... and the other month is just hot :)"
