Austin Info Please

We may have to relocate in the future and I would like to move back to Austin. I lived there for a couple of years in the 1980s. My husband is not excited about Texas, in addition to the fact that we would need to find him a decent job. (He is an application computer programmer that works with mainframe systems.)
What are his job prospects, and what can you share that might help him see what a great place Austin is to live? Thanks!
