Yes; there are a ton of venues in Austin for a town of its size. I'm sure larger cities have just as many, but Austin is special in that can boast of a diverse group of venues when compared to cities like Houston or Dallas. I can say that Austin is a good move for the most part. Compared to the rest of TX, Austin is an oasis removed from hick Texas. I'm ready to leave Austin mainly because the allergies here are completely debilitating. Culture wise for ethnicity, you will find a little bit of everything and that is due to the fact that high tech here draws a diverse crowd.
