Austin: A blue city surrounded by a red state

Austin is fairly libiral compaired to the other major cities in Texas, and anywhere in the south, for that matter. Thanks to the University of Texas and several other colleges, the population tends to be more diverse and higher educated. There is something for everyone in Austin: coffee houses on the lake, free wiFi all around the city, tons of live music venues, marathons everyother week, the lake, free movies in the park, one of the best independent book stores, etc...
