Lived here over 20 years - Basically very over-rated, schools decining rapidly due to massive invasion of Hispanic marginal elementary students. Many people do not have auto insurance etc. Would not retire here for numerous reasons incl property taxes approx. 400% - 700% higher than many other areas - check the figures if you do not believe this. Pay nearly $4000.00 /yr for a $150,000. value house. House insurance also is about highest in nation due to Tom Delay and the Texas Commission on Insurance being a wholly owned subsidiary of the Insurance Industry. Best wishes.
