I have been in the Austin area for six years and as a military brat I have seen it all and this city is an enigma for a Texas city. Clean air, low cost of living, expansive outdoor recreation, and a cosmopolitan entertainment scence without the attitude. It is nice to have so many educated people in one city as well, which may be why the job market has remained so good and crime is barely a blip on the radar when compared to other cities. Traffic can be a downside, but, a small price to pay. Every lifestyle is avalible, from suburbia, to the growing projects for increased density, or a quiet hill country mini ranch.
