Austin is unique in Texas right now -- a Progressive city. And you can ignore Mike's comments. Texas in general, and Austin in particular, boasts a majority of intelligent, kind and open-minded folks who welcome all people of good will. We grew up in Texas, went to college just north of Austin, and taught all around the area. We now live in another state. But when we move back, Austin is the only place that we will consider living. It's hot but very livable, and its intellectual and political climate more than compensates for the physical climate.
