Choosing to Live in Austin

I worked for an airline for over 8 years and have had the opportunity to live in places like, Kentucky, Ohio, Burlington, VT; Madison, WI; Boise, ID; Rochester, NY; New Orleans,LA...and Austin is where I fought to be assigned. Even when I left the company and went back to school, Austin is where I decided to stay and start a new chapter of my life.
Cost of living is high everywhere these days due to a weak economy. Austin offers a quality of life that is rare to come by, and that is worth budgeting.
Many native Austinites tell me how much there city has changed, and usually for the worst because they say that the city is not unique anymore. I disagree. Their perspective is skewed due to watching the change. Native Austinites: you have kept your city weird. Even the rich yuppies are touched with a bit of crazy!
Remember that every city has its issues, every pocketbook has its breaking point, however Austin is an accepting and vivacious city that can appeal to all.
