Property Taxes

All the people from out of state who are complaining about property taxes, fail to mention two things - 1) property taxes are high in the whole state because we have no state tax - when you compare total tax obligation, we are better off; 2) housing prices (and cost of living in general) are lower than in most of the rest of the country. So who cares that the tax rate is high if you're total spend is lower. Have a little perspective people. Austin is the most educated, most independent thinking part of the state. If you're a redneck, you probably won't like - that's a good thing! I can't wait to move back to Austin...
