Detroit is on a downward spiral

All of the favorable comments that I read about Detroit praised the downtown area. Well I have lived in Detroit for all of my 36 years and I have never LIVED downtown. The elected officials all boast about all that is being done downtown, but there is relatively nothing done in the neighborhoods where the majority of us live. Not everyone judges a city based on what there is to do. I'll settle for city services and good schools. Detroit is on a downward spiral and I can't see my kids growing up here and finding decent employment, because as we all know, the auto industry as we know it is out of here. My family and I are out of here as well.
