Review of Detroit, Michigan

Detroit-Better Late Than Never
Star Rating - 5/24/2007
I haven't been to many places in this country. Basically, a mid-westerner at heart and will probably live and die the rest of my life here in the Detroit area. This is not a complaint! I know there are better places than here, but I enjoy watching this city transform. Sure it's slow and a long time coming, but I honestly have to say that this town will be a major player again any many ways from jobs to entertainment to technology. I have seen and read many things going on or planned for this town and by 2015-2020 many of the concerns about downtown will be a thing of the past. The biggest problem (outside of schools) are the neighborhoods. At one time, Detroit had the best areas to live in the country and many of these places STILL EXIST. Recently, the mayor identified areas in the city to concentrate on redeveloping. What else can we ask for? All many of us metro Detroiters want is a nice city to work and play and maybe even live. So far, I work and play here perhaps in the future I'll live here too.
