Is Detroit Getting Better?

Man--I hate having to go to Detroit for business which I have to do quite often. The city is bleak. It has some great neighborhoods but everyone seems to be focused on the downtown area which is probably one of the worst in the states. No one walks here. There is little, if any, mass transit, and the attitudes of the folks about their town is miserable. They rant about a new business opening up downtown like it is a moon-landing. And... the burbs.. I won't even go there except to say that they think this place named Royal Oak is hip!! It looks like a typical suburb to me but I guess when folks are desperate, anything is acceptable. Now--with all that said, I am pulling for the Tigers. For God's sake---they need something other than their cars!
