the detroit i grew up in does not exsist any more. there are a few bright pockets of culture and though sadly, dwindling fast, a few landmarks remain. apathy is rampent and unfortunately the schools are horrendous. detroit is really not a place that you would want to raise a family. city administrative services are puzzling at best and defy logic the rest of the time. there is some amusement in trying to figure why the city puts some of their policies into effect, but after you finish scratching your head , you have to deal with those policies. closing the aquarium, laying off first responders(firefighters, police), cutting transportation services, not providing services and the list goes on. it would be comical if it were not so painful.
