This site seems to be attracting pessimists and negative people. I thought that it was only people from Detroit but I looked at other places. Take a look at the postings for Atlanta, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, and even New York. Some people who are commenting on Detroit do not even live here or either moved too long ago to have an opinion of how the city is today vs the late 80's and early 90's. For an unbiased accountI suggest looking at the site www.detroitrising.com. It is a site by a Detroit native that highlights "the good, the bad, and the ugly". It also have links to other cities. I couldn't help but take offense to some of the postings because they were direct attacks on the people in Detroit. Also I can't help but notice that some of the criticism is racially motivated. Someone actually made the comment "The city did not began to decline until the Negros moved in". The politically correct word is African Americans or simply black. So for the people reading this, you have an idea of the type of people who are making these postings. Also the city is being criticized for "white flight" and for being majority black. Have you ever heard of a city being criticized for being majority white??? That's something to think about. But you should definitely checkout www.detroitrising.com if you are interested in the Detroit-Detroit area.
