Lots of "glitz and Glamor" - it is Las Vegas, after all. However, the city also has great community theater, symphonies (childrens and adults), ballet, and other culturally enrichment opportunities. Recreation - well, there's the people watching on the Strip...but also boating and fishing at Lake Mead, lakeside relaxation at Lake LAs Vegas, and skiing on Mt. Charleston.

I know this an old posting, but all of the postings so far have been negative. I live in Washington D.C. and like all cities they have good sections and bad sections of town. I talked to someone the other week, who loves and lives in Las Vegas, they said Northwest or Southwest of the city are the best places to buy a house. By the way it will be a semi-retirement property for myself.
