Review of Lexington-Fayette Kentu, Kentucky

My husband and I are sick of Michigan and the metro-detroit area and have been looking at Lexington. Unfortunately, we haven't visited there in awhile and when we are looking at real estate online are unsure of what areas of the city we should stay away from.
Any advice?
