Indeed. While living (far) east of Lexington, I found the seasons to be both distinct and well worth experiencing. I lived in the foothills of the Appalachians, so the summers were not that oppressive: It almost always dropped into the lower 60s to upper 50s at night. But Lexington has a great deal going for it. The rolling hills of the bluegrass are really just as majestic as the tour-books claim. And the retired thoroughbreds live out their lives in majestic comfort in huge pastures: What a sight for sore eyes! I do miss Kentucky: It has been ridiculed by the ignorant for a very long time but the locals seem to prefer that. No one down there wants Lexington to balloon into another Atlanta or Charlotte.
