Review of Maine, Maine

Maine is special
Star Rating - 2/22/2006
I moved to Maine because it was like Cape Cod where I grew up 40 years ago, except Maine is not overrun and overpopulated like my home place. Because it is so big, you can be out in the middle of nowhere and still be near the ocean which is not true for most coastline, and there is still a feeling of old fashioned honesty and down homeness and self sufficiency and yankeeness which makes me feel at home and rather cozy. I like the lack of pretention on the part of most Mainiacs. I also don't mind the cold because I like to ski and I like snow and I like to look at the ocean and walk on the beach whether it is cold, warm, hurricaning, sand sandblasting the hell out of you, or whatever. It's beautiful regardless.
