High Costs in Maine

Maine is a beautiful place to live. Unfortunately, over the years the State government has made it a much more expensive place to live. Aside from high housing costs, we Mainers consistantly rank in the "top ten" when it comes to taxation: high property taxes, high income taxes and a 5% sales tax. The State government is driving many of its retirees away.
