When you live somewhere your whole life, you tend to see only the bad in it. So the bad, the government is corrupt, police are corrupt, we have plenty of them go to jail, the school system sucks so bad that I can't wait for my son to graduate this year an when he does he doesn't read or write worth a lick, as well as, alot of his friends, the mentality of people here is don't care about anything, is why I think there is so much crime, I blame that on our leadership, and yes we are gang ridden, Memphians exist they don't live, unless you are rich and can afford Germantown are Collierville, in Shelby county not Memphis city, one county two governments, which I think they schould consolidate. Does all this happen in every city, probably, just not as bad. Ready for the good, we have southern hospitality, go down to the river at sunset on a nice day you see all walks of life in one place together being friendly enjoying a God given beauty, can't help but enjoy Memphis in May, music fest, bar b q, Beale st., the parks-Shelby farms, the zoo, convience, but, to live here, alot of people always say they have been trying to leave here but, never do. There must be something that keeps them here. I will say are city is working on there issues, I remember when we won city beautiful, I am confident we can be there again, cause it is trashy now. All in all it is home. So, welcome, whoever chooses to call Memphis.
