memphis does have a strong cultural identity. especially downtown and in the historic areas, you are able to have the feeling that youre not just stuck in a large homogenous city. it is not a diverse culture in many ways, but it is not a bland culture. in many ways, memphis is a very unique place and i value its unique character highly.
