I am 31 and have lived in Memphis since I was less than a year old. My extended family lives here and I cannot find a comparable job elsewhere. Those are the ONLY reasons I still live here. It is a VERY unsafe place. There are a lot of very racist black people here. I'm sure there are many racists of all colors here, but as I am white and also the minority in this town I'm sure you see why I am not comfortable. I've done nothing to these people and neither have any of my family but I am an outsider here-one to be blamed. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this city so it can finish rotting itself out. I hate to say this as I'm raising a family here, but I don't want to give a false image of what it's like here to people who want to know.

I'm sure you are as comfortable here in Memphis-world as most Nubians are 'living anywhere' But Memphis. Quit being such a terrified baby and..Get over it! ..Be kind to everyone and that kindness will come back to you. If it doesn't come back from every single person, then count yourself fortunate to not have to waste your time. Your life will be richer for it.

hello cody i have just a few questions for u im thinkin about movin my family to memphis next yr. but after readin what u posted u have me freakin out a lil:( i am a wear that every city town or country has there good parts and there bad parts and all also have good people and bad but my ? to u is if u hate it so much why do u stay? let along raise your family there? r there and good things about memphis u like? whats the best side of memphis to stay on and what sides do i need to stay away fr. if i dnt change my mind about moving that way cause u have me freakin out rite about now
