Modesto, A-OK

I've lived allover CA, from San Jose to Mission Viejo(supposedly the great OC). I lived in Manteca for 14 years spent alot of time in Modesto, shopping, schools etc.
and then, decided to relocate to Orange County. I would give anything to get a transfer back to the Modesto area. People are friendly, down to earth, not so concerned with STATUS and MONEY. Parents are more involved with their kids and while their aren't as many choices for shopping, eating out, and recreation as OC the life is much simpler, way less expensive, and just generally better.
The main downfall in the Modesto area are the schools, but they have a great private school in Modesto and this would be the answer for academics. While I would miss the beaches, Disneyland, and the shopping, I can always come and visit and not have to live in constant turmoil and stress. Thumbs up to Modesto!!!!!
