It's a h*ll of a town

Not for everyone to be sure. New Yorkers are not prone to saying hello to everyone, just because you happen to walk by. Why should we, we don't know you. We do not do the automatic niceties. However, if you are in real need of help, I don't know of one NY'er who isn't willing.
It is definately tough to live elbow to elbow, but DON'T YOU KNOW THAT ALREADY?! Yes, it's expensive to live here, so is San Francisco and Hawaii. With Florida (Miami)catching up very quickly. And why does everyone have to live in Manhattan? There are 4 other boroughs. So if you choose to live in the most expensive area, don't complain!
And, it is the safest big city around. And if you look at the statistics, it's safer than most small cities too. Believe me, I know many cops who work for the NYPD.
I love it here, but will move to a smaller city so we can live on one income and be able to spend time with my son. Of course we can't do this anywhere else, but NY because of the resale value of our house is tremendous.
The international and cultural aspect is second to none. No one bats an eye if you are different. We are ALL different here. Most celebrities love it here, precisely because real NY'ers don't give two hoots about passing them in the street. I mean, big deal - I saw Joan Rivers, Donald Trump and Paul Schaeffer all in one day - who cares.
