I live in Jamaica, NY. It's a mixed neighborhood and I see people from all over the world every day. Shopping is great and the stuff that you have access to is as diverse as the residents in the area.
I love the convenience of the subway and bus services. In the part where I live, a car isn't necessary. It's great to have one but not necessary.
Late at the night, one can find an open store if one needs to buy something.
The diversity of the people and the variety of activities that are all around fill the place with energy. It might not be Zen but it sure drives one to know and develop an awarness of it.
