Stay away from NYC at all costs!!

I was born here and came back to live in the city during my mid-twenties and am ready to move out of this place! I know everyone from outside of the U.S. or the East Coast region is crazy about New York but if you live here long enough, you will realize how the quality of life is so low in comparison to many other places. Over the years, public transportation has diminished in quality with out of control construction projects and subway line interruptions that delay your travel plans. If you live in another borough and wish to travel into Manhattan, it will take you more than an hour to get from Point A to Point B and with weekend projects, you will have to switch several times and walk up several long flights of stairs in the subway stations. Second, the city is filthy as ever with rats and roaches crawling all over the place during the warm months and the sidewalks smell so bad since all buildings leave their garbage on the street (why hasn't the city ever thought of a new idea on how to collect trash?). Third, there are long lines for EVERYTHING....such as concerts, Broadway shows, supermarkets, lunch/brunch places, movie theaters, etc. Every concert and new movie sells out in seconds and you always have to compete to get a single ticket. To add to this complaint, there are just too many people living here. The reason why everything is expensive is because of high demand and not enough supply, like for instance, the housing situation. Fourth, New Yorkers can be rude as ever. There are many yuppies who are overly pretentious and reproduce like crazy, too many Wall Street corporate guys with their fake personalities roaming around the city, and ghetto trash who inundate the subways, movie theaters, and department stores. The neighborhoods in the boroughs are quite segregated and the concept of a neighborhood in Manhattan no longer exists. Fifth, the city is too noisy. Construction will wake you up at unreasonable hours of the day or night, the subway will cause you to eventually go deaf, neighbors are inconsiderate, and people honk their horns as if speaking a foreign language. Sixth, as seen in other comments posted on this site, the city is overpriced. It is really a tough place to save money especially when you are young. I am now 30, have a decent job, and am considering living outside of the city to start saving some moola and hope to eventually move to another city. Thank you for reading my criticisms of NYC ;)
