Expensive but great quality of life

New York is expensive. Those of us who live here seem crazy sometimes to outsiders--and to ourselves. Expecially with 20% rent increases, and sky high condo prices. But where else can you ride your bike around what's perhaps the world's most populated island, walk along rivers, dine at
out of the way funky places, and sit under cherry blossoms in several
Botanic Gardens. Get a russian bath, and walk along ocean boardwalks.
All in the same day. No dirving neceesary--or desired. Great medical care.
Plenty of options for dating. So yes it's crazy but I've lived in Europe, Asia, East and West Coasts--and this is the only place for me.
