A little known gem in New York City Midtown, is Beekman Place. It is rich in pre-war architecture;with buildings designed by Emory Roth and Rosario Candela. Historic Townhouses border the tree lined streets. Each December the Beekman Place Association erects a Christmas tree; which is placed in front of the Irving Berlin townhouse, where carols are sung and the tree lighted. There is a vest pocket park facing the East River, with a dog park.
The area is rich in the history of New York City. It still is a neighborhood within a city.
