People who haven't been to NYC don't understand how dirty the city is. The subways are never cleaned. The streets are never cleaned. You find trash all over even in the better neighborhoods. There are half century old abandoned industrial buildings that are still erect, riddled with graffiti and garbage.
It's depressing when you pay $1500 a month to live in a city like this.
