One of the Lowest Quality of Living in the United

San Diego has polluted air, water, and more trash than a third world city. Drive along any major artery here and you will see so much trash that you will think you are in a third world country. They still dump raw sewage into the ocean four miles off Point Loma, most cities do a three step process to treat sewage and San Diego only does one...it removes solid waste and dumps the rest in the ocean. They have invested so little in the infrastructure that traffic is a nightmare. And the best part is you get to pay some of the highest prices for housing in the United States. The city is the fifth largest in the country with a terrible mass transit system. I grew up here and left in 1978 after college because I saw the writing on the wall. What do you expect when developers control city government. Instead of planning for growth they packed more people in without decent infrastructure. But yes the weather is beautiful, but mankind has trashed the area and continues to do so. The next time you are there look east to the mountains and see the thick brown layer of smog or go to the beach and enjoy the "Do Not Swim" polluted waters. Or see how they solve traffic gridlock, by building more lanes on the already wide freeways only to have a bottleneck somewhere else down the road.Right after the big Cedar fire the city voted down providing funds to improve fire protection services, which is typical of the Republican mantra of low taxes at any price, even though the problems just grow and you end up spending more in the future for a problems that has grown out of control. To me San Diego is a view into the future and the results of wasteful living and lack of planning for the future. Do you really think we can all get into a gas guzzling SUV and drive to work without any reprecussions?
