Been here 37 years but its time to leave

The year-round weather is better than anywhere I've ever been. It does get hot in the summer which always seems to last through October, and rain, if you like that, is minimal. The yearly average is around 10 inches but lately 5 or 6 seems the norm. However, the winters are great, some rain, clouds, but mostly sunny and warmish....70's. Lots of things to do here. Universities abound with appropriate cultural and scientific events. San Diego has a symphony, two operas, chamber music, etc, and the world famous zoo and Wild Animal Park. Beaches are there, so are the mountains and the desert.
Some bad stuff comes with all the good stuff. Lots of people, terrible traffic, crime but no worse than most large cities, a city government that often borders on felony incompetent, and traffic (did I say that again?). We've been here since 1972 (37 years if you do the math) and have seen too many changes. For us in retirement, its time to go but opportunities do abound for the young and active crowd. Enjoy!.
