Almost Perfect

I have lived in Santee for 36 years and the changes have been extensive. Traffic has been, and still is, a big problem. However, that's a problem in most CA towns and cities. Santee is on the eastern border of San Diego, which is pretty much where the jobs are.
That said, Santee is a great little community. Other than having no hospital, it is well-run, and almost self-contained, especially if you don't mind shopping at fairly low-end stores. I don't mind at all. The people are friendly, the layout is very convenient (Costco, Walmart, Home Depot, Office Depot, Michaels) all in a loop. And across the street from the loop is Town Center with many other stores (Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Staples). You get the point.
Only two real negatives. It's in California which is close to communist, and very expensive, and second, Santee is very hot and dry. If I had my way, I'd lift Santee out of CA and move it to, say, Idaho, far from the leftist loons running our state.
