Jon, I wish those were the temperatures! Those temps were taken at the old airport, I'm guessing, which was high on a windy bluff. (A new one just opened.)
The reality is that it is 100+ for most days from (usually) through mid-September. The lows during that time period are never below 83. I'm saying it's still 99 degrees at 10pm. Yes, it's a dry heat, but it's still really, really hot and the lack of humidity (as low as 8%!!) makes it hard to even breathe some days.
Come visit. Experience the reality, and you'll see what I'm saying.
At least we've been lucky enough to have spring for the last couple of years. Usually we go from cool weather to extremely hot, with one week of nice weather in between.
